Skiathos is the western island of Northern Sporades complex. It is very green surrounded with a thick pine forest and about 60 fine sandy beaches with crystal clear sea and a deep blue color. Each one is unique, either peaceful and wild or crowded. If you look for a sandy beach is better to go to the south if you want peddles or rocks go north. Most of the beaches are accessible by car, motorbikes bus or taxis. Only a few of them can be reached only by boat.

Skiathos is a small island but it is considered as the most cosmopolitan island of the Sporades group, not only for the beaches but also for the traditional old town the  harbor and the very calm and friendly environment. In town visitors have plenty choices of restaurants, bars, cafes and Greek traditional tavernas.

The major asphalt road runs along both the eastern and the southern coast, while some other paved or dirt roads reach the northern part of the island. The bus route starts from Skiathos Town to the very famous sandy beach of Koukounares with middle stops to other beaches such as Achladies, Agia Paraskevi, Troulos etc. During the  summer season is running frequently  but it goes only to the south coast of the island. For other destinations, taxis are also available either from the port or from the airport.
